Grand River Forestry started in 2017 with two brothers, a chainsaw, and a growing frustration with how forests were being handled. Too many jobs ended the same way: healthy woods stripped bare, valuable species pushed out, and land left looking tired and hollow. We saw it again and again, and decided we weren’t going to be part of that problem.
So we changed our lane. What began as timber harvesting turned into full-time forest management services in Northeast Ohio focused on long-term land health, smarter growth, and property that looks better years from now than the day we first step foot on it.
That includes invasive plant removal, thinning, timbering, tree planting, prescribed burns, wetland construction, bridges and boardwalks, and more, all in the name of healthier, more beautiful woodlands.
Our core belief hasn’t changed since day one: if a tree comes down, the forest should come out stronger on the other side.
A forest doesn’t live in isolation, and neither should your management plan. Our land management services in Ohio cover everything that makes your property work as one connected system: woods, fields, wetlands, brush lines, water flow, and wildlife movement. Every recommendation starts with a boots-on-the-ground walkthrough so we can see what’s actually happening, not just what it looks like on a satellite image.
Some landowners want better hunting. Others want healthier woods. Some care most about resale value. We build each plan around what matters to you, and what your land can sustainably support.
Most of our forestry projects are for private landowners looking for professional guidance on managing wooded acreage, inherited land, hunting property, or farmland that’s slowly being reclaimed by brush. But, we also support:
Our service area centers on Northeast Ohio, including communities along Lake Erie and stretching south through Columbiana County. We also take on select projects in western Pennsylvania when they’re a good match.
If you’ve ever typed something like “forest management near me” and ended up more confused than helped, we’re happy to be your first real conversation with someone who actually works the land.
